0 kids to 3 kids (under the age of 5)

It has been a very busy few months here in our home. Blogging has definitely moved to the back burner here for awhile. We now have 3 foster children under the age of 5 living with us. These children are in the process of having their mother’s rights terminated, at which time we will be allowed to adopt them. They are such adorable kids and can’t imagine our life without them now.

My last day at work was June 30th and I can’t begin to tell you how glad I am to have that behind me!! I switched careers to the best career of all… stay at home mom!!

It has been a lot of work taking in 3 kids under 5 but will worth it. We should begin the road to adoption sometime within the next week or so. It will be as early as August or as late as October before we can actually adopt officially.

Until next time…

Cool rendition of Stand by Me

It is from a video about world peace and though world peace is not achievable this side of Heaven, I do think that this arrangement of Stand By Me from an artistic and logistical point of view is outstanding!

The Power of the Cross

This is a powerful and beautiful modern day hymn.  If you have not heard of Keith and Krystin Getty, I encourage you to take some time to check out their music at They have a sampler of their music that plays on their main page.  These are the lyrics to one of their songs that is one of my favorites. I wish we had more modern day songwriters that wrote with this kind of depth.

The Power of the Cross

~ Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

Oh, to see the dawn
Of the darkest day:
Christ on the road to Calvary.
Tried by sinful men,
Torn and beaten, then
Nailed to a cross of wood.

This, the pow’r of the cross:
Christ became sin for us;
Took the blame, bore the wrath—
We stand forgiven at the cross.

Oh, to see the pain
Written on Your face,
Bearing the awesome weight of sin.
Ev’ry bitter thought,
Ev’ry evil deed
Crowning Your bloodstained brow.

Now the daylight flees;
Now the ground beneath
Quakes as its Maker bows His head.
Curtain torn in two,
Dead are raised to life;
“Finished!” the vict’ry cry.

Oh, to see my name
Written in the wounds,
For through Your suffering I am free.
Death is crushed to death;
Life is mine to live,
Won through Your selfless love.

This, the pow’r of the cross:
Son of God—slain for us.
What a love! What a cost!
We stand forgiven at the cross.

~ Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

An interesting quote

“The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing. But in our culture we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture.”
~Doug Phillips
